About VPinstaller
The VPinstaller software was developed to help pinball hobbyists enjoy new tables as they are released.
Prior to VPinstaller software being available, hobbyists who wanted to add a new table would have to first track down all the pieces of a pinball table - could end up being many items for a single table! Then they would have to download, rename, and put those files in the proper folder locations on their computer or cabinet to get the table to work. Then, they would have to add the table to their menu system (e.g., Pinup Popper) by adding the table, configuring the media, and adding the table to the desired playlist(s). In order to install a PUP Pack, even more work is required! This is a very time-consuming and frustrating process, even for those who are tech-savvy and have a lot of experience with installing tables. As a favor to fellow pinballers, many of these experienced users would remotely log onto someone else's computer or cabinet in order to install the same files. All of these amazing files are free to download and accessible on various websites, but so many enthusiasts lack the technical expertise that is needed to utilize them and install new tables. That was the inspiration needed to create the VPinstaller application -- so others could benefit from this expertise, get tables installed on their machines, and enjoy pinball!
The VPinstaller application automates the entire process to save fellow pinball fans' time (and possibly money if they are turning to someone who charges for the technical support service). The VPinstaller application does all of the work for you! All of the files required for a given table have been packaged into a zip file that can be downloaded from this website. Then you simply use the VPinstaller to point to one of the downloaded zip files, and click the Install button to have the table installed properly and added to your menu system. Instead of struggling for hours to install and configure files, you're ready to play pinball within seconds! VPinstaller does not charge for its use, and of course there is no charge for any of the creative content. VPinstaller is simply making it easier for enthusiasts to play new tables as they are released. Without the VPinstaller, the hobbyist who is technically incapable of collecting all of the content and processing the files is never able to update their cabinet and enjoy new tables. Or, they are forced down an unethical path of purchasing a new hard drive or paying for subscription services that provides new content. VPinstaller provides a free service that respects and honors the content creators, rather than profiting off their hard work.

In recognition of the outstanding time and effort contributed by the authors who make virtual pinball tables possible, attribution credits are fully preserved by VPinstaller, and this data is even added to the Pinup Popper menu system! Furthermore, each table and PUP Pack on the VPinstaller website is linked directly to the hosting website where the author shared their work (e.g., VPUniverse). Users can click on the link to view the author information, make a contribution to the author, write a review of the table, and donate to the hosting provider. VPinstaller encourages and simplifies the methods by which members can support the virtual pinball community.
